Raising funds to support those in fuel debt
Amidst all the changes in the Winter Fuel Allowances this year, there is one thing that has not changed, in fact it has worsened significantly, and that is the numbers of individuals and families in our local community that simply can’t afford to heat their homes and cook food. With general and food inflation as they are, there are many that are struggling.
Every penny raised has been paid directly to the energy companies thus ensuring that the funds reduce the fuel bills of the needy.
Since 2012 over £300,000 has been raised with your great support. Thank you.

This annual appeal, now in it’s thirteenth year, has helped thousands of local people who have found themselves in ‘fuel debt’, which often results in them being unable to use their heating and cooking appliances as much as they ought to. High energy costs have made the situation worse for many people.
Each November a new appeal is launched and asks those who do not need their Winter Fuel Allowance to donate it to the appeal. Other donations are welcomed.
Referrals for help are usually via agencies such as Citizens Advice. All of the individual payments are paid directly to the energy companies thus ensuring that the funds are used to reduce the debt owed.
