Since 1997 Farnham Lions Club has held an annual Charity Golf Day at the splendid Hindhead Golf Club.
Each year approx. 64 players enjoy a great day whilst also helping to raise funds for the chosen beneficiary for that year. To date over £180,000 has been raised to support a diverse range of charities. In 2025 funds were raised to support ‘young carers. During previous years we have provided beds for hospices, sensory gardens, electric wheel chairs, medical equipment, furnishings, school books and much more.
This year will be the 29th Farnham Lions Charity Golf Day on Thursday August 27th 2026. Farnham Lions are excited that this year’s beneficiary will be https://www.headroomcharity.co.uk/ who provide:
- Headroom provide counselling for neuro-diverse young people aged between 11 and 25 and their parents. It was founded by Sue Evans just before lock down and based in Aldershot but has recently relocated to Farnham, about a year ago.
- Primarily their clients came from the Hart and Rushmoor area but having moved to Farnham they are seeing an increasing number of referrals from Farnham schools. Sue commented that at Weydon School alone there are 45 neuro-diverse pupils who are registered that do not attend school.
- They currently have a waiting list of around 70 young people from Farnham, so any funds that they can raise will go towards increasing the number of counselling hours.
