Lions Tea Party Success

This year’s Lions Tea Party was held at Farnham’s Memorial Hall on Sunday May 17, 2026.

Sixty-seven guests from the Farnham area, who mainly live on their own, and where applicable, were collected from their own homes and returned safely at the end of the event. Two mini-buses, and three cars, as well as private cars were used.

Our guests all enjoyed homemade teas including a fine selection of cakes and sandwiches, served by Lions and Friends of Lions. Musical entertainment was provided by the Blazing Saddlers performers, who played and sang songs from the 1960’s. The band played and sang Happy Birthday to guest Chris Tuckwell, the son of Phyllis Tuckwell, who celebrated his 90th birthday.

We were very grateful for Mayor Graham White and Mayoress Judy White who officiated over the Raffle Prize draw for the ten lucky winners. They are photographed along with Club President Simon Moran-Smith.

Jane Langton incoming Lion President said: ‘Thank you to everyone who joined our Tea Party. It was wonderful to see so much laughter, friendship and enjoyment shared over a good cup of tea and lots of delicious cakes.’

The annual Tea Party is part of our Community Support portfolio where we give back to Farnham using the funds raised through our projects.
