Farnham Lions support Bells Piece in Firgrove Hill.
Farnham Bells Piece, part of the Leonard Cheshire charity, has just opened a new home and garden at Firgrove Hill in Farnham to provide a supported living service to 8 adults with full time support. Its purpose is to provide an element of independent living for a number of their younger clients. They will have some ownership for the care and maintenance of the living accommodation and for the garden area at the back of the house. At the end of this area is anothersection of garden, approx.100 square metres, which will be used as an allotment. The plan is to clean up/refurbish this area and establish a small market garden. The clients will be taught gardening skills and will grow vegetables for their own consumption and plants for selling as they do at the main Bells Piece site in Hale Road, Farnham. The Lions Club of Farnham, who have supported various projects at Bells Piece over many years, are delighted to be able to help this new venture with a donation of £2,500 to enable work to start on the refurbishment.
The events listed on the community sub menu list are not fundraising events but ones that we finance as a service to our local community. We believe that they represent a varied cross section of good causes and projects that, without our support, would not take place. To the young and elderly alike they add value.
