Other Social Events and Outings
Sunday lunches in various pubs, Beer and Skittles evenings and Petanque tournaments are popular, as are the occasional Cheese and Wine Parties at the Farnham Conservative Club. Visits to Theatres or Concerts are arranged to cater for the "culture vultures" amongst us, and as a new venture which is proving popular, our "Walk Chairman" finds exciting walks in the local neighbourhood roughly once per month in the good weather months.
Of course, those with particular fields of interest, e.g. Railways, Aircraft, Museums, Theatres, Concerts, or maybe just a day trip and nice meal in Boulogne, often organise outings to indulge themselves and others of like mind. We have visited the BBC TV Studios at Shepherds Bush, The Globe Theatre near Tower Bridge and had many a laugh on trips to the Mill at Sonning. Every month brings some great new social opportunities, with trips to the TAG Farnborough airport for a tour behind the scenes or a trip to the incredible, now closed, Whitechapel Bell Foundry.
In June 2019 we had the opportunity to see the Beating the Retreat in London - fantastic evening .

Another great Cheese and Wine
Well done to our Social team, and in particular to Graham and Elaine, who led the team and delivered a superb table of cheese and a good few bottles of some interesting wines for our annual Cheese and Wine lunch in February. Roll on February 2018 I hope for another annual repeat. Great afternoon and really nice to see some guests in addition to many regular visitors to Farnham. Now I just need to go check my cholesterol!
